Accountant & Office AssistantSUMMARY: General ledger and sub-ledger expert; achieves operational objectives; develops systems; confirms financial status; monitors revenue and expenses; maintains accounting controls; guides other departments; and complies with legal requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the duties may be assigned. ·Perform various accounting activities in support of the shared services accounting department.Provide support for the accounting department including journal entry preparation, reconciliation, and research ·Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and control procedures as necessary to meet established company goals and comply with regulatory standards. ·Ability to use computers and relevant software with advanced use of MS Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Oracle Financial Application (or other ERP software) ·Strong familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field including a theoretical and practical understanding of GAAP ·Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks ·Communicate openly via email, phone, and incoming mail. Share knowledge and help fellow associates where needed, regardless of the responsibility. Maintains open lines of communication and works independently as well as part of a team ·Other responsibilities may include: fixed asset recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and reporting; physical inventory observation, review, reconciliation, and analysis ·Monthly reporting and schedule preparation. ·Recording and maintaining the employee database - specific human resources activities (REVISAL). ·Working closely with the Manager and Area Accountant to clarify any situation. ·Review of subsidiary ledger postings and reconciliation for accounts payable and accounts receivable. ·Review bank reconciliations, and prepare as needed. Issuing local (e-facura) / International invoices. ·Assist management with review, analysis, and interpretation of financial reports. ·Perform cash management functions QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (10+ years). Theoretical and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to analyze financial reports and financial statements, identify trends, and explain variances. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use computers and relevant software. Experience with Oracle – Discoverer, Oracle - ADI, and Oracle accounting software is a plus.
