NTT DATA Services is currently looking for an Accounting Director Shared Servicesfor our growing team based in Romania. Overview The role is to have the overall responsibility of the Near Shore Center and Romania Accounting Financial reporting process. The candidate should provide support to GBSS Head/Controller – NTT DATA Services with timely and accurate Financial results and will be required to oversee a Nearshore team that manages F&A functions that need Multi-European language support, provide local Real-time (Europe Time zone) support for Procurement, AP, Billing & AR functions and ensure Local Statutory Compliances & Process controls are met. Responsibilities Manage the daily operations and activities of the team and ensure all KRAs are met. Responsible for accurate and timely closure of Books as per local laws – owns the month end reporting process Identify opportunities for the team to own greater responsibilities and create transition plans where required Work on expanding the Shared Services team from Romania in NTT DATA Group Manage escalations, identify root cause and come up with process improvement and put controls in place Identify learning and development needs of team resources, creating and facilitating appropriate internal learning materials and actively supporting on-going development & growth initiatives Analyze common processing mistakes (internal & external), do root cause analysis and assist in the development of training materials and delivery of presentations Develop and be accountable for Project work plans, ensuring all tasks are delivered in a timely/cost effective manner, anticipating scope issues and obtaining agreement on changes to work plan Understanding of CIT and VAT regulations, processes and filings for Romania; independently support a third-party service provider who provides these services Understanding of Transfer pricing/intercompany invoicing regulations for Romania Understanding of Semi-annual and Annual financial statements filings as required by Romanian regulations Independently support audit by Big 4 Audit firm Knowledge/ understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for Romania Strong knowledge of reconciliation procedures and practices for all balance sheet accounts. Must be able to reconcile IFRS financial statements with Romanian GAAP financial statements prepared by third-party provider Understanding of payroll rules and reporting requirements, including withholdings tax reports and payments for Romania; monitor third-party payroll provider and record Monthly payroll for Romania To have periodic meetings with the GBSS Head and provide updates on Individuals and Nearshore center business To report any non-compliance issues to the GBSS Head so that precautionary measures can be put in place To organize and conduct periodical Team Meetings and also One on One’s, with the Team Leads Provide timely reports and dashboards on key performance indicators (KPI's), compliance and non-compliance areas Continually evaluate & update SOPs & ensures that process adhered to it Effectively communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion Take the lead in maintaining existing successful team environment, identifying and recognizing team efforts, and promoting activities that build rapport within the team Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work Ability to manage HR related matters for the direct reports and teams; including interviewing, hiring, compensation planning, ongoing feedback/coaching and formal performance management (e.g. mid-year and year-end reviews) Perform other duties and projects as assigned Key skills Several years of experience in Accounting/Finance in a Senior level/Lead position, preferably in a large multinational corporation/Big 4 firm Qualified Accountant/CPA Proactive with good communication, leadership & people management skills Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Persuasive, encouraging and motivating with strong written and oral communication skills Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial Should be a Good Team Player & Process driven person. Service minded leader with extensive background in leading and developing large cohesive teams. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to integrity, internal controls and data privacy. Demonstrated ability to manage toward optimal utilization of resources, ability to embrace ambiguity and be an effective change leader.
