It’s a place where you can be yourself, influence the culture, and create work that you’re proud of. About your roleDICE is scaling fast and we’ve got ambitious goals for our platforms. As the Backend Engineer, you and your squad will have a direct impact on what we build and how we build it. Our backend apps are written mostly in Elixir and Go. They feed various information to our award-winning apps with GraphQL and REST API, and handle millions of transactions for our ticket sales. Our code is hosted in GitHub, which we use for pull requests and code reviews. Pipelines are managed by Drone CI and each commit builds a Docker container. We spin up short-term Kubernetes clusters so our QA team can test new features in the entire stack – then we merge the code and push it to the production cluster. We are always open to making changes and improvements to our workflow and code base for the benefit of the team and product.You’ll beDeveloping our backend system written in Elixir.Working cross-functionally with Product Managers, Testers, Engineers and Product Designers to understand requirements, provide technical insights and timescale estimations.Working in an iterative approach, designing, building and trialling out new concepts quickly to test assumptions and create the best possible service.Developing our ticketing and event management systems by creating scalable features.You arePassionate, humble and talented.A fan of music and culture. Actively responsible.Someone who cares about maintainability of the software; writing clean code, unit tests and documentation.You’ll needProven experience with Elixir, Ruby-on-Rails or some functional programming language. Genuine interest in working with Elixir and Phoenix.Experience designing and developing systems at scale.Experience implementing clean and efficient solutions.Experience delivering business valuable features quickly.Strong understanding of how databases work internally.Understanding of how OSes and Linux work internally.Experience integrating third-party services.About DICEOur teams work from London, New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Paris and Milan.
