We develop and deploy software that enables our products to make the best use of our network resources.Partner with the bestAs Senior Software Engineer, you will be working at the core of Akamai's Content Delivery Network. You will analyze, design, and implement system software. This software, as a key component of our traffic, will bring new functionality, increased security, increased reliability, and enhanced scalability. You will also be working closely with your team and with other teams at Akamai.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:Analyzing, designing, and implementing software that brings new functionality, accuracy, and increased reliability to our mapping systemImproving the ability and safety of our software systems for testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenanceBecoming a subject matter expert for our systems, checklists and improving our software, troubleshooting, and handling operational issuesEvolving our existing configuration management systems to allow safer and faster feature rollout of new functionalityCollaborating with multi-functional teams across AkamaiDo what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:Have a university diploma in Computer Science or a related fieldDemonstrate significant professional experience as a software engineerDemonstrate experience developing, building, and debugging C++ softwareDemonstrate a good understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, network protocols, and implementations (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DNS)Demonstrate openness and flexibility to constantly learn new technologiesEnjoy collaborating with team members to solve complex problemsWork in a way that works for youWe recognize that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best can vary for each person.This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised).
