Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact Assisting managerial team in making technical decisions regarding the general performance of the plant by nuclear safety, technical, and reliability point of view Regularly perform inspections, evaluations, walk-downs, with focus on organizational effectiveness, operations, maintenance engineering, radiation protection Consultancy and technical assistance services Oversight of leadership, safety culture, staff engagement Provide consultancy to the directors and/ or chief engineers in decision making for specific technical decisions identified from different organization assessment tools Performing at the directors and/ or chief engineers request any inspection, peer review verification, independent verification of either technical or organizational aspects Advise on best solutions to significant challenges identified by risk management processes to ensure that the issues are adequately addressed Conduct reviews in the areas of organizational effectiveness, operation maintenance, engineering, maintenance, and radiation protection Present the assessment results regarding organizational effectiveness, operation, maintenance and engineering in a monthly written report to SVP, including recommendations on actions to improve plant performance Issue recommendations to improve nuclear safety and overall plant performance based on best practices from the nuclear industry and lessons learnt Assess leadership skills and provide recommendations for improvement What You Need to Succeed A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering is required At least 5 years of manager-level experience (Chief Nuclear Security Engineer or Chief Maintenance Engineer, or Chief Operating Engineer, etc., or Operations Director or Production Director or Technical Director) at a WANO Atlanta affiliated nuclear power plant classified INPO/WANO at INPO 1 level during their mandate Participation as a member of WANO/OSART/INPO assessment teams at nuclear power plants in the WANO Atlanta Center Participation as a member of project teams for consulting/ assistance /mentoring/coaching in the performance of a nuclear power plant member of WANO Atlanta Center. Comprehensive understanding of nuclear plant technology, design, and operation In depth knowledge of nuclear site outage/installation/maintenance will be an advantage Demonstrated capability to manage and lead Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality Drives results at all levels This role requires full-time relocation to Cernavoda, Romania for an extended duration.
