Data Architect Migration Project | On-Site Bucharest, Romania | Long-Term Assignment Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a large-scale data migration project in Bucharest, Romania. This full-time, on-site role requires expertise in data modeling, database architecture, data governance, and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping the overall data strategy, ensuring seamless data integration, performance optimization, and compliance with industry best practices. This is a long-term role with an extremely attractive compensation package. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture & Strategy: Define and implement the data architecture framework for the migration project. Design high-performance, scalable, and secure database solutions. Establish data governance policies, metadata management, and data lineage strategies. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all systems. Database & Cloud Integration: Architect data migration strategies for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other database platforms. Design and implement ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Apache NiFi, or similar tools. Lead the adoption of cloud-based data solutions (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Optimize database performance, indexing, and query execution plans. Data Modeling & Analytics Enablement: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business and analytics needs. Ensure data warehouse and data lake architecture aligns with best practices. Enable advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning capabilities by designing a robust data foundation. Support the development of real-time and batch data processing frameworks. Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with DBAs, data engineers, business analysts, and cloud architects to ensure alignment. Ensure compliance with GDPR, security standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams. Maintain detailed documentation of data architecture, migration plans, and integration workflows. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Architect or similar role. Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle (PL/SQL), Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra. Strong experience with ETL and data integration tools, such as SSIS, ODI, Apache NiFi, Informatica. Proficiency in cloud-based data solutions (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google BigQuery). Experience with data modeling techniques (Dimensional, ERD, Data Vault, etc.). Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance standards. Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks is a plus. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Scala, or SQL.
