Responsibilities
- Monitor the system performance to ensure that the system has enough resources to continue to process production traffic
- Maintain database security and patches; install databases and application packages
- Business as Usual Tasks based only on database area
- Interaction with customer and internal technical management
- Occasional involvement in installation projects
- There may be a requirement to provide support as part of the 24x7 out of hour's rota
Qualifications and Experience

- Database administration knowledge for at least one of the following technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle;
- Basic experience in supporting high-availability, high transaction volume applications
- Basic experience with technologies like Clustering, Mirroring, Replication
- Experience in database maintenance, backup and recovery solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The following skills would be a plus:
- Experience with T-SQL and/or PL/SQL development
- Experience in performance tuning, database maintenance
- Knowledge of database architecture and modeling
- Experience in working with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Experience with NoSQL database technologies (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence Development Tools
In-depth knowledge or holding any of the below certifications is a plus:
- Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX OS, Windows
- Microsoft SQL Certifications
- Oracle Certifications
- MySQL Certifications
- ITIL
