Design Engineer – Piping Romania in Galaţi

THE ROLEWhile executing daily engineering and design tasks, the Engineer is responsible for keeping his/her supervisor appraised of all relevant/serious issues generated upon review of technical information and during work progress, both with regards to changes in the scope of work, in the schedule or in the budget compliance. The Engineer is responsible for learning and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all applicable design tools, software, regulatory and classification rules and requirements, industry trends and standards, project management system, etc, as applicable in his/her own technical discipline. Performs any other task related to the position or to the professional abilities requested by the Department Manager; KEY RESPONSABILITIESA. Technical knowledge & quality of executionApplying typical or specific knowledge and engineering principles and practices within his/her discipline;Employing own basic technical capabilities to solve project technical issues and tasks;Searching clarifications with the TL whenever in doubt about the technical solution to chose;Applying only controlled design or engineering tools and methods (calculationspreadsheets, etc) for the execution of the assigned project activity;Applying only controlled processes or methods, as indicated by discipline design flows or company quality or project execution procedures;B. Scope & Scope changesSelecting all relevant input documentation (project and process) as deemed necessary, for the execution of the assigned project activity;Obtaining and reviewing completeness and correctness of input data as deemed necessary for the execution of the assigned project activity;Reconciling conflicting project requirements for design and input data; informing TL of any cross-disciplinary impact;Checking/ reviewing own work before submitting any deliverable for internal checking process;C. Cost and schedulePerforming the assigned activities within the allocated deadline and budget;Accurately completing and submitting, for approval, weekly time sheets as required by the company’s time booking procedure;Reporting weekly status and progress on project activities to his/her direct supervisor in terms of work performed; reporting changes or modifications that influence scope of work and delivery time; REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering;At least 2 years of uninterrupted design activity,Good knowledge of core design software tools and capabilities utilized within his/her discipline – Autodesk Plant 3D is an advantageFully conversant and capable with Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced user);Good English knowledge, both written and verbal (at least a proven B2 level);Understanding the requirements of a project-based organization;Great knowledge of ship building and design terminology (Romanian and English).Great ability to communicate and interact within a multidisciplinary team.Open to develop and learn new skills and new ways of work;
