As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be part of a team of engineers that builds out the retail brokerage business and supports our other business initiatives. Help balance engineering time between new features, and improvements to old systems Provide leadership for more junior members of the team, by both managing a project team and providing general technical mentorship Provide concise, constructive, and thoughtful peer reviews for both more junior engineers as well as for other senior engineers Interact directly with the tastytrade business team to capture and translate requirements and technical direction into production-quality code Assist with bug fixes, incidents and minor projects as necessary Contribute to code reviews and regular team meetings Take ownership over several of tastytrade's systems Who you are ✔ Experience managing teams of 5-15 people both remote and local ✔ A firm understanding of the technologies we use such as Ruby & Postgres ✔ The ability to effective communicate complex technical concepts into simple language ✔ 4+ years of professional experience working as a software engineer manager ✔ The ability to jump in and assist with technical challenges ✔ A proven track record of team leadership ✔ Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals
