Position Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled person to lead one of our engineering teams in Bucharest that contribute to the Adobe XD product (https://www.adobe.com/products/xd.html). In this role you will lead a team of software development engineers and make Adobe XD a key piece of Adobe's Creative Cloud ecosystem. You will lead your team's efforts in areas like design, layout, text and rendering to name a few. You will have high visibility and responsibility within Adobe.
Responsibilities
* Hire and directly manage a team of world class engineers while being responsible for driving all aspects of implementation, quality assurance, continuous integration and deployment, and application monitoring
* Create and instil a team culture that focuses on engineering excellence, but also encourages deep engagement with our customers and out of the box thinking
* Mentor technical leaders and contribute to the research of excellency in terms of architecture and code design
* Participate in the design and review of features, technology choices, architecture, designs, time and budget estimates, and test strategies
* Manage project scope and risks with creative problem solving
* Develop and evolve engineering processes and collaboration models to optimise team efficiency
* Work closely with teams and managers across Adobe, in different geographies
Requirements
* B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 5+ years as a software engineer working on commercial software
* 3+ years as a software engineering manager
* Outstanding verbal and written English communication
* Demonstrated ability to build a diverse team of top engineers in a competitive job market
* Strong working knowledge of modern software development methodologies and software design patterns
* Strong customer empathy and demonstrated engagement with customers and partners to truly delight users
* Experience developing desktop (MacOS, Win) or desktop-cloud hybrid applications is a plus
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum
* Very strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, especially OOP, data structures, and design patterns
* Knowing the sweet spot between “getting it done” and building a sustainable product
