Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Country Lead in Bucuresti

Job Description: Overview: ► The Deutsche Bank (DB) Chief Security Office (CSO) maintains an appropriate level of information and physical security protection Group-wide, and end-to-end, in accordance with the Group’s Risk Appetite Statement. As the most senior authority within DB, CSO develops and drives the implementation and operationalization of the information and physical security strategy and ensures that DB’s assets and people are adequately protected.► Part of Corporate Security’s responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of all DB staff, contractors, visitors and clients is in line with both best practice and local legislation as well as DB standards. The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Country Lead Romania will support the Regional Head of Corporate Security, the CSO Lead Romania and the Global Lead EHS in ensuring that all EHS Policies are implemented and reflect current best practice, are aligned to the requirements of Audit and Regulators, and are compliant with local legislation. He/she will liaise with multiple stakeholders to align roles and responsibilities for delivery of EHS across their respective groups. The EHS Country Lead Romania will be expected to maintain oversight of a number of administrative elements including but not limited to Policy tracking and management of SharePoint sites. The EHS Country Lead Romania is expected to be a subject matter expert in EHS, with significant exposure to the different legislative expectations across the respective region. He/she should maintain networks into industry forums and relevant government bodies where subjects are in scope. Key Responsibilities:Responsible for the implementation of the EHS strategy, as set by the Regional/Global Lead and related global capital plan, coordinating with Corporate Services, external EHS provider, senior management and other stakeholders as requiredAssess whether local and regional EHS policies and standards are current, fit for purpose, meet local legislation, regulation and are published in the correct locations.Keeps an updated Prevention and Protection Plan composed of technical, sanitary, organizational and other measures, based on risk assessment, to be applied according to the specific working conditions.  Contributes in the design of specific policies and local procedures, using subject matter expertise and knowledge to help the Regional/Global Lead roll out appropriate actions to assist in the protection of staff, contractors, visitors and clientsResponsible for all EHS activities to support DB local operations, working closely with EHS external consultant and Corporate Services to ensure appropriate governance over delivery of EHS through Tier 1 PartnersParticipates in EHS trainings, inspections and audits. Asses the level of knowledge and application of all employees of EHS rules. Follow-up on any corrective action plans.Contribute in EHS incident investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action identification, reporting and closure. In case of local incidents management, responsible for escalation to senior management, reporting to local authorities and external EHS provider.Evaluates risk associated with business opportunities and contractual obligations, from EHS perspectiveWorks with the different Lines of Defense (1st Line Operations, 2nd Line Controls, 3rd Line Audit) and external agencies (e.g. regulators, auditors) to provide information as requested. SPOC for EHS inspections and audits.Works with the Regional Operations Centre team to coordinate the local/regional/global EHS incident management process, including policy maintenance and testing, and ensuring all entries to the system are correct and educating individuals/groups where required to ensure accurate reporting.Sets the evacuation plan in case of emergency, to draw up the decisions with the workers designated to give first aid, to use the defibrillator in case of need, as well as the intervention teams in case of emergency. To deal with the organization of training courses for these workers as well as their replacement in case a worker leaves the companyMaintains all the records required for the EHS performance of the company, such as specific workplace EHS needs, job profiles, medical recommendations, equipment handover reports, trainings and instructions (induction, periodical, ad-hoc).Checks the operating status of the alarm, warning, emergency signaling systems, safety systems, as well as the defibrillator► Develop an understanding of the needs and requirements of the bank’s businesses and senior management, in order to understand how EHS can better support them► Partner with business leaders and employees to continuously improve the EHS culture, EHS awareness and accountability► Follow trends in development of EHS management systems, identify and rollout opportunities to further improve global EHS management system.► Develop and maintain industry networks to ensure DB is fully aware of the market practiceExpected skills & qualifications: Technical studies and Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, as per EHS regulatory requirementsEHS qualifications and knowledge, according to Romanian lawsStrong written and verbal English5+ years EHS experience working in large-scale enterprisesa team player with very good communication skillsFlexible and adaptable to change, in a diverse and dynamic environmentCritical and structured thinkingPreferred and helpful:Experience working in EHS in a multi-tiered matrixed organizationExperience working in cross-functional teamsExisting knowledge of DB or similar global organizationSecurity knowledge is an advantageunderstanding of regulated industries, especially in the financial services areaOur values define the working environment we strive to create – diverse, supportive and welcoming of different views.
