With over 3,000 employees, we run an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research. For the Omics IT and Data Management Core Facility we are looking for a:n as soon as possible. System Administrator:in (m/f/d) Linux (Reference 2022-0473) The Omics IT and Data Management Core Facility is responsible for the efficient analysis and storage of various biomedical data with a focus on genome sequence data. The analyses are performed on a local computing cluster in close cooperation with colleagues from the scientific departments. In addition, we provide modern cloud-based analysis environments in collaboration with the IT Core Facility. In this essential and technologically challenging environment for cancer research, we are looking for a:n System Administrator:in to support our dynamic team. Your responsibilities: Installation and administration of Linux servers and clients (CentOS; hardware and virtual). Participation in the design of new system architectures. Management of our computing clusters (with IBM LSF). Management of networks based on InfiniBand technology. Contribute to concepts for efficient storage and analysis of large amounts of data. Your profile: Completed studies in the field of computer science / bioinformatics or comparable or completed training as:an IT specialist:in for system integration or a comparable technical degree with relevant work experience. Extensive knowledge in Linux administration is required Other knowledge, at least in sub-areas, is advantageous: Computing cluster technologies (esp. LSF). Databases (esp. PostgreSQL or MySQL) Cloud technologies and virtualization (OpenStack, oVirt, Docker, KVM). Web servers (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat) Scripting (Shell, Python, Perl), programming (Java). Centralized user databases (Active Directory, Kerberos). Automation and orchestration (e.g. Ansible).
