As a GitHub SME, you'll play a pivotal role in a truly global business to own the organisations GitHub Enterprise subscription.GitHub SME ResponsibilitiesOwnership of GitHub Enterprise.Expert Guidance: Serve as the go-to GitHub expert, providing insights and best practices for repository management, branching strategies, and workflow design.Training and Enablement: Deliver training sessions, workshops, and documentation to empower teams to effectively leverage GitHub features.Compliance and Governance: Implement policies for repository access, code reviews, and approvals, ensuring alignment with security and governance standards.Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.GitHub SME RequirementsEssential:Extensive experience with GitHub, including Enterprise-level subscriptions.Great understanding of Security and Compliance.Experience working in large, scaled businesses.Deep understanding of Git workflows (eg, Gitflow, trunk-based development) and branching strategies.Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Proven track record of implementing GitHub at scale across teams.Desirable:Experience with GitHub Advanced Security (eg, code scanning, secret scanning).A coding background and understanding of version control.Knowledge of automation Scripting (eg, Python, Bash) for workflow enhancement.Certification in GitHub Administration or DevOps practices.We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.
