Your career opportunity The Payments Services Technology team, based across 10 countries, are responsible for the IT systems that facilitate the payments processing, sanctions screening, and the clearing and settling of all payments via SWIFT and in-country Domestic Payment schemes. Payment infrastructure allows our customers and clients to move funds freely and fast across the globe, pay their suppliers, credit salaries, pay taxes directly to authorities and transfer money via multiple channels. What you’ll do The job requires the successful candidate to design and implement technical solutions under the direction of the regional and global leads of Global Disbursements. Collaborating with business stakeholders to provide best of class solution design, and implementation, at all levels of the technology stack, to address business problems and opportunities.Recognize and implement improvements to the technical landscape and processes to improve the platform and business product.Influence modern delivery and DevOps practices and technologies within the team and within the wider Global Payments Space.As a regionally independent team the roles requires the ability to provide delivery on all areas if the Global Disbursements platform and the ability to work with a variety of technologies.Support production issues to a timely and satisfactory conclusion when escalated the team.Alignment to a DevOps delivery culture.Design, implement, deliver and support solutions to technical and business problems.Interact with the GD team and stakeholder to understand the problem or need behind a deliverable in such a way that the risk and testing concerns are understood and owned.Involvement with the wider organization beyond GD to ensure solutions align or influence departmental and organizational objectives and initiatives. Proactively implement regular technical improvements to the Global Disbursements platform and the wider delivery/tooling environment and justify/demonstrate the benefits.Challenge the implementation direction or urgency of an implementation request if deemed to be detrimental to the long-term performance of the team, platform, and product.Active involvement and ownership of Support activities covering stability, efficiency, and improvement initiatives What you need to have to succeed in this role Able to demonstrate strength in designing, delivering, and supporting technology solutions in a variety of technologies at all levels of the application stack: OS, Database, middleware, application servers, UX.Versant in a variety of programming languages including Java.An understanding of API technology, containerisation, micro services.Prepared to learn new technologies as the solution direction requires.Experience of working in high pressure technically varied teams.Experience of working with globally and culturally diverse teams.Strong Payments knowledge including experience in messaging including ISO20022 and SWIFT products such as Alliance Messaging HUB and SWIFT Alliance Gateway is a plus. Effective decision-making, influencing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong business and technology acumen, and proven experience in building a vision and developing strategy supporting the vision.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
