Description:
In this role, the Hardware Design Lead Engineer undertakes the system design, implementation and factory acceptance test phases of projects. As member of the Project Management team on a Project he is responsible for managing the delivery of a portfolio of project related engineering deliverables, utilizing the Emerson Process Management global resources and standards; each deliverable having a requisite quality standard, budget and schedule. Further, the Lead Engineer supports the sales and proposals team in the pursuit of new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the hardware design in close cooperation with the Hardware Lead and Project Manager from Front Sales Offices;
- Coordinate and support the hardware activities of the Front Sales Offices project team;
- Coordinate and support the hardware implementation activities with iCenter ;
- Coordination and support of project activities with regard to hardware factory acceptance test;
- Communicate in detail technical matters to support Emerson engineering personnel and iCenter;
- Initiate the customer clarification requests and the deviation forms;
- Provide sales team with technical support; Applying engineering standards to ensure that uniformity and quality improve within projects;
- Report the progress on a regular basis and follow the design and engineering hours budget according to the project schedule;
- Follow the Project Management Office working methods, procedures, tools, and identify areas of improvement where needed;
- Promote the use of configured cabinets when applicable and provide feedback to the sales team;
- Ensuring hardware design is in conformity with customer and industry standards.
- Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent knowledge;
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record managing system design, implementation and factory acceptance test phases of projects (process automation, systems and instrumentation);
- Ability and talent to lead a technical team – with leadership experience preferred;
- Extensive experience with direct customer contact and managing expectations;
- Local language skills with proficient English (verbal and written); excellent communicator;
- Willingness to travel as required.
