The role includes performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing system issues, and implementing corrective actions to maintain optimal indoor air quality and thermal comfort.The position will be for a contractor rather than PAYE, but we can guarantee permanent work as we have multiple clients on annual service contracts.This is a real opportunity to forge a long-term career in a rapidly growing facilities management company!About the RoleWork for this role is primarily performed in commercial and industrial settings, including confined spaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy equipment and materials.The role requires lifting and carrying equipment and materials, standing, walking, and climbing ladders for maintenance tasks, and possessing good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Key Responsibilities:Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting partsDiagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, including compressors, fans, thermostats, and other componentsReplace defective components, such as motors, controls, and SwitchesMonitor HVAC system performance and identify potential issues before they become major problemsMaintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance activities, and repairsAssist in training facility personnel on the proper use and care of HVAC systemsImplement energy-saving measures and recommend upgrades to improve system efficiencyStay updated on the latest energy-efficient technologies and practicesEnsure all HVAC maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standardsConduct regular safety inspections and risk assessmentsAdhere to company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Required Experience:Associate degree or NVQ certification in HVAC technology, mechanical engineering, or a related fieldHVAC technician certification, eg, EPA Section , F-Gas preferred3-5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repairProven track record of troubleshooting and repairing various types of HVAC systemsRequired Skills: Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and equipmentStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprintsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsBasic computer skills for record-keeping and documentationIn-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and maintenance practicesFamiliarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standardsUnderstanding of energy-efficient technologies and maintenance practicesModis International Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers in the UK.
