Mechanical Design/ Project Engineer About the Role Location Romania Bucuresti Bucharest Organization Gas Services Business Unit Distributed Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your DayAs a Mechanical Design/ Project Engineer you will deliver small scale (<€150K) R&D engineering packages delivering service projects and undertake the project management as well as the engineering works and cross collaboration with our engineering teams to complete engineering solutions.How You`ll Make an ImpactFocus areas for SPDE R&D typically include: Siemens Energy OEM special tools ( HSE), Repairs and product life cycle extension opportunities ( cost reduction) Product upgrades ( product enhancements or obsolescence), Digital product offerings. Liaise with Field Service, Installation & Commissioning and Maintainability to identify and implement opportunities for reducing time of scheduled and unscheduled site activities;Liaise and collaborate with Overhaul Engineering to support projects which reduce their strip/build and service time activities / component repair activities and general product improvement activities;Provide the SGT business with technical support and recommendations/ideas for new designs/concepts and processes;Assist in creation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and In-Field Service Validation trials in support of HSE and improved maintenance methods;Instrumental in the re-design of equipment/components due to site related constraints/failures of the original design to meet criteria and product improvements defined by the business;Provide other Siemens Energy engineering depths with the necessary support for existing product designs enhancements, SGT100 - SGT400 package design input;A versatile Project Engineers role within the Service Product Development Engineering R&D function to support the execution of approved projects;Typical projects include;Developing special tools for the SGT100-400 product range for Field Service EngineersComponent Repair Engineering SolutionsSupport the implementation of new technologies into engines reduced emissions technologies into existing customers packages. What You Bring Relevant Engineering qualifications ( Degree preferred, but HNC, HND or equivalent and/or relevant experience will be considered);At least 5 years’ experience working in an engineering environment with experience in gas turbine and/or aerospace industries;Awareness / familiarity of Gas Turbine ancillary systems ( oil system, start system, fuel system, ventilation system etc);Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel essential;Experience of project management and working with (leading and being part of) cross functional teams;Motivated and able to show initiative as well as accountability within a dynamic work environment - Able to travel to suppliers and to Siemens Energy Sites (sometimes internationally);Excellent communications skills in English, both written and verbal, including the ability to create and deliver clear, concise presentations;Self-driven and strong inter-personal skills.
