This role requires a highly experienced and versatile network professional with a proven ability to design, document and implement complex solutions in an enterprise environment.
The candidate for this role should have expert ability to develop functional and technical requirements, demonstrate advanced creative problem solving and the ability to effectively document and communicate solutions.

You will work closely with the Emerson WAN Service Owner and WAN Service Lead to ensure the service is aligned with business requirements and maintained in a secure manner consistent with Emerson standards. A significant aspect of the role includes development of the Emerson SD-WAN solution and migration from the traditional to software defined WAN.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Design and document connectivity solutions to meet business requirements whilst maintain Emerson security posture

Segmented WAN using multiple VRFs with Palo Alto firewalling to control inter-VRF traffic flow

Global WAN including the use of MPLS, IPSec, DMVPN with egress through regional Data Centers

Work on the development of SD-WAN standards and processes to aid the migration from the traditional to SD-WAN

As required work to evaluate specific engineering requirements and design, test, document an optimal solution that can be operated in a globally consistent manner

Engage vendor sales and technical contacts as required for knowledge and development of WAN solutions
FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

Minimum 5 years of networking experience (strong knowledge and background in designing and implementing Cisco WAN and switching solutions in an enterprise environment)

Education to degree level or equivalent, but experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Experience architecting and designing routing and firewalling solutions

Firewalling ideally both Cisco and Palo Alto

Extensive experience of BGP in an enterprise environment

Detailed TCPIP knowledge

Language knowledge: fluent in business English (speaking / writing); any other languages are considered an advantage
