Go (nice to have) Kubernetes (nice to have) GameLift (nice to have) API (regular) Client-Server and P2P Architecture (regular) Unreal Engine 4 (regular) C++ (advanced) Flying Wild Hog Cracow is currently working on an independent project, a multiplayer action RPG set in a sci-fi universe.ABOUT THE POSITION:As a Network/Multiplayer Programmer, you will prototype, develop and maintain network and multiplayer systems in the project. You might also work on server orchestration, performance optimization, live metrics, etc. The project's scope is wide, so you will be able to specialize in your preferred area.RESPONSIBILITIES:Developing and maintaining gameplay systems related to networking and multiplayer in a client-server architecture (both on server and client)Working on player matchmaking, server orchestration, and autoscalingDebugging and optimizing network systems for optimal latency and bandwidth utilizationCoordinating multi-region and multi-environment game server deploymentsMaintaining and improving backend performance monitoring and alerting systemsAdapting third-party tools, libraries, and APIs for networkingREQUIREMENTS:Minimum 3 years of experience developing server architecture and applications for online gamesDeep understanding of client-server and P2P architecture, scalability, and security considerationsPractical knowledge of game backends (example: EOS, Steam, PSN, Gamesparks)Understanding of low-level network APIs, e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, socketsGood Unreal Engine 4 knowledgeStrong C++ knowledge Good communication and team skillsNICE TO HAVE:Familiarity with Gamelift, k8s, and GoExperience with matchmaking systemsExperience with multiplayer on Xbox/PS consolesOUR OFFER:Private medical care (entirely financed by the employer)Fitprofit cardSalary depending on skill level and experienceReally flexible working hours (core hours 11:00-16:00)Influence on various aspects of the game – the game is being created by the whole team – your opinion countsThe team consists of experienced experts, which means – huge developmentWorking environment based on a strong team spirit and positive energyDelicious coffee and fresh fruits in the officeLocation in a walking distance from ICE Congress Center
