The Challenge
Cloud Engineering is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to join a team of hardworking and highly skilled Network Engineers. This team is responsible for engineering and maintaining a large-scale, global, high-availability multi-cloud infrastructure of the Adobe Digital Experience Cloud. This is a highly-technical, fast-paced, and exciting atmosphere in the growing business of cloud-based digital marketing. Automation and infrastructure-as-code experience is a key building block of an ideal candidate.
What you’ll do
Areas of focus for this role include but are not limited to:
- Design, deploy, and maintain data center network infrastructure in many colocations around the world.
- Challenge everything and ask if it can be automated or done in code.
- Monitor network and systems health, responding appropriately to network alerts and events to diagnose and fix network issues.
- Communicate with other technical and solution teams to understand network requirements and deploy solutions that meet requirements.
- Review architectures, configurations, and network tools to continually improve network performance and reliability.
- Contribute as a network domain specialist to projects involving multi-functional technical teams, internal business and engineering customers, and external partners.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
- Adhere to Change Control policy requirements and availability mandates/requirements.
- Work a flexible schedule allowing network maintenance during off-peak (late evening and weekend work as necessary).
- Keep abreast of technological developments and maintain up to date knowledge and skills across key platforms.
- Support automation/orchestration of alerts and remedial tasks to increase availability and agility.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience or capability in the following areas:
- BS in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years hands-on expertise in implementing, administering, and solving network infrastructure problems, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, access switches.
- Experience with Cisco networking, switching, and routing technologies, IOS, IOS-XE, and NX-OS.
- Load balancing and firewall experience such as F5, Citrix, Avi, Cisco ASA/Firepower
- Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Git, SaltStack, Cisco DCNM, etc.
- Good Code/scripting knowledge. Python preferred.
- Experience with L2/L3 protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, STP, FabricPath, VXLAN and EVPN.
- Experience with public cloud network design, connectivity, and management (AWS, Azure, GPC).
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Effective at short-term actions that are consistent with long-term goals.
- Ability to optimal prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
- Desire to challenge yourself, learn, and continually improve.
