Job Description
Responsibilities:
As a project buyer, you will be responsible to source and launch e-Boosting components into production. You will partner with the global commodity buyers to define new commodities need for the new components required for this specific technology.
- Partner with Program Management, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Application Engineering, Business Teams, Purchasing, and Plants to ensure proper coordination and effective prioritization within the Supply Base Department for NPI launches.
- Track Cost, Quality and Timing data for new component launches
- Manage and Oversee supplier negotiations
- Lead implementation of supplier cost reduction initiatives
- Manage capital tooling and expense budget for NPI organization
- Responsible to get new components successfully launched at the suppliers focusing on cost, timing, quality and capacity
- Participate in the design of new products with the Application Engineers or Product Engineers
- Work with the project team and supply base team to develop and agree on cost targets for new components prior to customer quote
- Interface with commodity managers to identify potential suppliers and commence supplier selection process and audits as appropriate
- Conduct evaluation of supplier proposals to reduce costs or improve quality and work with engineering on implementation.
- Promote concurrent engineering, by organizing and leading early supplier selection, encouraging sourcing of prototypes at the production supplier with a co-design/ design to cost approach
- Facilitate prototype orders to support timely supply of development components
- Consolidate budget for all external investments including development/tooling etc for all new components within the project
- Coordinate Product Launch Supplier Quality Engineer activity for all new components
- Facilitate tooling capacity analysis on new product to ensure the supplier’s production can meet demand requirements
- Conduct evaluation of supplier proposals to reduce costs or improve quality and work with engineering on implementation.
- Take lead for all supply base activities for the project and ensure actions from support functions are completed on time
- Support the development and implementation of processes to enhance the overall efficiency of New Product Introductions
- Organize and Lead Sourcing Committee activity
Key Success Factors:
- Achievement of Cost, PPAP Approval and SOP targets
- Ensuring early production suppliers nomination and Concurrent Engineering deployment
- Ensure APQP Process is deployed all along development
- Maintaining performance metrics and tracking sheets for NPI activities
- Use of production intent suppliers for prototype parts.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in automotive environment or similar
- Technical degree – preferably Electro Mechanical Engineering
- Working experience with SAP environment and culture
- Good knowledge of purchasing
- Fluent in English.
