Next Generation Fixed Access (NGA) Engineer in Bucuresti

Your day to day: Define the technical implementation options of New Generation Access (NGA) networks across Vodafone countries, in one or more of the following technologies: FTTH/DSL Access Nodes(OLT); Fixed Cable Access Nodes(CMTS) & Fixed Service Nodes (BNG,). Follow up Vendors’ technology evolutions, lifecycle and features in one or more of the Fixed Access technologies (FTTH/DSL, Cable & Service Nodes Business), that can satisfy country demands. Guarantee the proper E2E Architecture and Roadmap for Fixed Access Networks Participation in Telco industry standardization committees (Broadband Forum, SCTE Expo, )… and Vendor Events (ANGACOM, Nokia SR Expert, …) With these activities, you will have a great impact on our business: Study scenarios for Fixed Service Layer harmonization as well as business cases to recommend the more effective and timely solution. Prepare a masterplan, including major cross-country network transformation projects. Manage vendors & roadmaps, promoting solutions to implement harmonization in Fixed Services networks Recommend network investment decisions in the countries within Fixed Access Network scope, ensuring effective alignment with the European strategy and roadmap Alignment with network technology strategy and architecture, as well as efficient adaptation to local needs and requirements of local markets With these skills, you are a great candidate: Core competencies, knowledge, and experience Broad & deep technological background in Fixed Service networks and services, future directions of these technologies and how they can fulfil needs and requirements of local markets Deep understanding of interdependencies, restrictions, and priorities in the deployment of Fixed Access Networks Understanding of Broadband& IP Fundamentals and its various Protocols supporting them. Working experience with the Assessment, Selection (RFx) and executing Proof of Concept of Fixed Access solutions Develop technical projects to promote the NGA harmonization and to identify the most effective timing for project deployment. Network virtualization technologies, SDNs, NFV, Container environment & Kubernetes, Cloud management systems It would be a plus proven knowledge or experience in: Understanding the provisioning and maintaining of Fixed Access, IP, Ethernet and Optical services across Backbone & Core Networks. Experience to manage Network Management and Support systems related with Fixed Access Networks Certifications: formal training or certifications of any of the following vendors would be welcome (CableLabs, FTTH Council, BBWF, Cisco, Nokia, Juniper, others). Characterize all local markets’ NGA landscape, needs and requirements, in order to devise opportunities for implementing harmonized NGA solutions focus on Fixed Access Network Must have technical/ professional qualifications: University Degree: Telecommunication Engineer 3-5 years’ experience in Fixed Service Nodes Engineering role.
