The Role: Reporting into the Development Director, the Online Engineer is involved in the whole creation process from architecture design, implementation, debugging, and tuning on multiple platforms and devices, working on complex problems with designers, artists, and other engineers in the online and game modes domains. Your Responsibilities: •You will design and architect technical designs for Online/Game systems •You will work with a proprietary engine to develop stable, scalable, efficient, and shareable code •You will work with people on a large team both locally and remotely Your Qualifications: •3+ years of experience with C++ and object-oriented design •Experience with server administration and operation •Experience with modern Database technologies •Knowledge of networking protocols •Experience with 3rd party APIs •2+ years of experience working on Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo game consoles or other embedded systems would be a big plus •Experience in real-time game networking •Experience with Visual Studio and debugging tools •Experience with source control systems will come in handy •Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, Lua) and interpreted languages (C#)About EA We exist to inspire the world to play.
