Principal CyberSecurity Engineer
The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Cyber Security Engineering team is responsible for the architecture, design and delivery of the cyber security capabilities for the group.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Principal Cyber Security Engineer who will architect, engineer and own specific cyber security capabilities through their lifecycle, ensuring the group is secure and resilient to cyber threats . The team works in close partnership within the wider Cyber Security team and other technology and business teams.
You must have a strong understanding of modern attacker techniques, tools and procedures balanced with experience in modern implementable approaches to engineering cyber defence solutions.
You will be responsible to:
Define the architecture and design of specific cyber security capabilities to support business objectives;Develop and own the roadmap for the specific domain area(s);Contribute to the group cyber security strategy;Lead on the delivery of cyber security control project(s) for the domain area;Lead evaluation of new technologies and capabilities;Drive change projects and the build of new capabilities and processes;Develop approaches for remediation;Own the control and any configurations related to cyber security;Author and/or contribute to related policies, standards and architecture patterns;Ensure all cyber security capabilities are appropriately documented and service transitioned with all necessary artefacts completed;Develop key indicators and analysis to continually evidence control effectiveness in the group;Lead third parties and others in their deliveries;Lead third parties and directly engaged resources subject to deliveries required;Ensure the maximum value is exploited from solutions and optimal configurations are in place for the specific operating and threat environments.Essential Skills & Experience:
Broad experience of technology domains. Quick to assimilate new concepts and technologies;Architecture and engineering experience of layered security capabilities;Clear & concise documentation skills tailored to the target audience;Defining of processes to support an administrative or technical control;Security and architecture specific technical accreditations such as OSCP, CISSP, TOGAF, GIAC or those relevant to the specific domain of expertise;Strong understanding of the tools, techniques and procedures used by adversaries to breach and progress compromises within organisations;Experience of translating business requirements to technical requirements;Flexible in approach, adapting plans and strategies to help handle risks around ambiguity;Engineering sustainable solutions and processes;Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Framework.Specific Domain Knowledge & Experience:
Enterprise Collaboration Systems;On-premise and Cloud services;Microsoft 365 services;Secure email gateways and related controls;Secure web gateways, web isolation, cloud access security brokers;Secure messaging portals;Data loss prevention controls;Instant Messaging, audio and video conferencing platforms;Internet and associated technologies, their operation and related security aspects as related to the domain, for example DNS, encryption and web;Threats and mitigations associated with the domain area;Operational experience in responding to and investigations of threats and incidents;Threat intelligence integrations to enhance capabilities;Process analysis and design;Authoring of domain specific security standards & guidelines.We are looking for intellectually curious people, interested in the bigger picture of how the technology industry is evolving, ready to ask difficult questions and deal with complicated scenarios.
