ABOUT THE TEAM

The Digital Innovation Team (DIT) is responsible for researching and developing smart digital solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Sustainalytics products and processes. The focus of the team is on artificial intelligence, machine learning, information retrieval & extraction, and data-intensive digital curation technologies. The team operates as part of Sustainalytics’ Information and Communication Technology Team.

The main goals of the DIT are as follows:

  • Research and Development (R&D) of artificial intelligence, machine learning, information retrieval and extraction, and data-intensive digital curation technologies;
  • Incorporation of the developed solutions into the company workflows;
  • Continuous improvement and upgrades of deployed smart technology solutions;
  • Servicing the information acquisition, extraction, and analytics needs of internal and external clients.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The product manager will provide with operational leadership to the DIT projects, by having two main areas of responsibilities:

  • Manage the downstream implementation of smart digital solutions; upstream guidance will be provided by the Executive Team, Head of ICT, Head of Digital Innovation, and other key stakeholders;
  • Own the already deployed technology products and solutions, their continuous improvement and upgrades; support will be provided by a dedicated software development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop the plans and oversee the execution of smart technology projects, based on upstream guidance provided by the Head of DIT; suggest resource allocation across multiple projects, own the plans and roadmaps of DIT project portfolio; oversee project implementation; assess project risks and propose mitigation plans;
  • Represent DIT with users of already deployed products, pursue and collect feedback, propose upgrades and continuous improvements, own the feature backlog, and implement the improvement program;
  • Oversee the development of product documentation and keep it updated and available for product stakeholders;
  • Represent DIT with internal stakeholders, with regards to products at late stage of implementation and/or in maintenance/upgrade stage; and
  • Oversee troubleshooting and other special projects, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Graduate education (can be compensated by additional relevant experience) in computer science, information science, data science, management information systems, business analytics, or related topics;
  • Five years of experience in digital product management, using agile management frameworks;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
  • Strong people management skills, including proven soft skills;
  • Experience in project / product management tools;
  • Demonstrable experience of a high-level general programming language (Python, R) will be an asset;
  • Ability to work under stress;
  • Proven troubleshooting abilities (in technological context); and
  • Meticulousness and attentiveness to detail.
