Job Summary:
As a QA Engineer you will be responsible with creating test plans/test cases suites/test runs for various projects (mostly web applications) based on functional specifications documentation, design plans and testing environments. This implies direct collaboration with project managers, developers, QA engineers, designers and clients in various types of meetings held online on different communication platforms. You will also have QA offshore activities which implies classic testing, bug reporting, regression/confirmation testing, communication with project teams in chat/online calls. If a team is available, you will be supervising the activities of the QA team, hold local or online meetings for review, planning etc. You will create specific documentation, reports, make test plan/test suites presentations for PM and clients etc.
Responsibilities:
- Create test plan/test cases suites/test runs
- Coordinate QA activities, attend/organize meetings, present activity status to Project Manager
- Create documentation, reports that reflect the results of QA activities and tested products
- Ability to convert requirements and specifications into test cases and define acceptance criteria/expected result for a software product;
- Create Jira issues based on encountered defects, assign them and review/validate the content of the Jira issues posted by the team;
- Run tests suites, regression/confirmation testing
- Provide estimates for test planning, test case creation and test execution
- Identify and recommend areas for quality and efficiency improvements
- Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in related field
- Hands-on experience in writing test plans/test cases suites for a given system/scenario
- Mandatory advanced English language skills (written and spoken).
- Experience as a Team Leader in a manual testing QA team
- Strong knowledge of system testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze complex problems
- Experience with bug tracking tools
- Experience in creating QA specific documentation
- Understanding of software development life cycle
