Inventory platform The aim of the inventory product is a to be a single source of truth for inventory visibility, sourcing, availability, promising and reservations. The team provides visibility into our available inventory across our warehouses and store network, and shares this to our digital experiences as well as to our partners. The platform also orchestrates how we determine where to put supply and fulfil orders across the marketplace, including placing inventory reservations to ensure consumer demand gets met. The inventory platform is also responsible for the promise we make to our consumers around our delivery lead times. The Inventory Product has 6 capabilities: Visibility: complete picture of the inventory across all locations, including stores to enable decision planning for planning, deployment, and fulfilmentAvailability: real time information on available inventory supporting allocation decisionsSourcing: determination of where to put supply and fulfil the orders based on various criteriaPromising: meet the consumer promiseReservations: Reserve or promise supply based on demand signals, business rules and management objectivesProtection: manage the assignment of supply to all channel Fulfillment Platform The Fulfillment platform ensures every order gets routed to the correct fulfillment location within our network, whether that is a store, our own warehouse, or the warehouse of one of our partners. The platform also optimizes which orders to consolidate to reduce costs, while still meeting the consumer promised delivery date. The platform also orchestrates fulfillment related status updates providing real time visibility into the delivery status of orders. Capacity management will manage the shipping/ processing at warehouse and transportation and receiving capacity at partner/stores. It will run scenario modelling both for current capacity and future capacity, considering priority. The capacity services will be consumed by external applications and will update the actual capacity once the orders booking process is completed. Expected competences and knowledge minimum of 5 years of software development experienceProven experience of designing and building distributed RESTful web application microservices using JavaAt least 6 months of experience using any of the AWS services Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS or CloudWatchExperience writing automated tests that run in CI/CD pipelinesExperience developing and presenting effective solutions for technical/product problemsExperience supporting products in production using observability and alerting tools (Splunk, SignalFx, etc.)Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.)Delivery excellence in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environmentExperience in designing and implementing highly scalable web applicationsExperience with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
