About the projects: In Romania, 1&1 Mail & Media is developing applications related to calendaring (Calendar product), document editing and viewing (Online Office product), messaging, web hosting and a customer care tool. Our team is looking for a new colleague to join us and work on the products we are responsible for: The Online Office is a suite of applications that allow users to edit or view files from their Online Storage in the different Portal solutions offered by 1&1. Both the editor and the viewer use as document processor engine the open source Libre Office and Collabora Online product, to which we are contributors. The Calendar is an application that offers calendar-specific features like managing different topics related calendars, events, invitations, possibility to integrate with external calendar, import ics events from other systems, integrate with known Calendar clients through the CalDAV protocol. The Calendar engine with the CalDAV protocol implementation is COSMO, an open source project that 1&1 is the owner of and where we are main contributors. The Mail Support Tool, which is a key centralized customer information tool developed for Customer Care. It is directly connected to the customer care ticketing system and gathers all relevant information via dedicated APIs which connect to all the portal products. Main responsibilities: Implement new features based on requirements received from the Product Owner; Focus on code quality, security and scalability; Participate in the products architecture when needed; Teach and be a mentor for junior team and project members; Closely collaborate with the other team members and stakeholders, but also with colleagues responsible with other products in order to achieve a high level of integration between systems; Possibility to contribute to complex open-source projects like Libre Office, Collabora Online and Cosmo. We appreciate: Relevant professional experience; Very good knowledge in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Maven; Very good knowledge in REST services; Strong understanding of data structures, design patterns, concurrency and scalability; Experience with MySQL/Redis/Cassandra is nice to have; Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab, JFrog, Jenkins is nice to have; Openness to work full stack (Java, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes); Fluent in English (both written and spoken); Highly motivated, self-driven and result-oriented; Very good communication skills and a great team player.
