You'll be part of our core functionality where you can put your hands on engineering challenges including scalable data pipelines, data warehouse optimization, data lake structuring and general data transformations. As we are still a new company you will have a lot of impact on the development and the success journey of our start-up.We have 2 great data engineers on board and we are looking for a person who would be interested to take the lead in our data engineering initiatives.You’ll make an impact by…Designing, implementing, and monitoring data pipelines within our AWS cloud architectureDesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, improving pipelines performanceOptimizing data models, data storages and data warehouse capabilitiesAssembling large and complex datasets to meet business requirements, working with different data integrations, their data formats and documentationExploring ways to enhance data quality and reliability of designed workflowsCollaborating with Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers and Data Scientists to facilitate the relevant data flows for all the platform consumersWorking with internal stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and supporting data infrastructure needsTechnologies you’ll be working with…Spark as your daily job framework, closest friend and enemy :)Python as the main coding languageGlue & EMR as computing servicesRDS on MySQL, Redshift* as DB servicesS3 as data lake service with Athena* on topTerraform for IaC related to Data Engineering orchestrationCI/CD and GitlabIDE of your choice (we use PyCharm)* planned to be part of our ecosystemWho are we looking for…You fit this role if you are a data engineer who meets the following points:A degree in Computer Science, Informatics or other quantitative fields with +4 years of professional experience as a data engineerSolid experience with designing scalable ETL/ELT processes which are based on data lake & data warehouseStrong programming skills in Python with an understanding of software engineering principlesGood knowledge of Spark API and architectureExperience with AWS cloud services like Glue, EMR, S3, Batch, Aurora, Redshift or Athena is considered an assetPractical understanding of OLAP and OLTP patterns, database optimization and data modelling is considered a big assetWorking experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQLExperience with modern software development stack including CI/CD, repositories, version controls and containerizationRemember that you do not need to fulfil all the requirements 100%.
