Unix (regular) Red Hat (regular) Oracle (advanced) Oracle WebLogic (advanced) RESPONSIBILITIESWe are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsible for providing middleware engineering support for a wide range of middleware products, including 3rd line BAU support for production and pre-production environmentsMiddleware support responsibilities include installation, configuration, maintenance and live support of middleware services hosted on Linux and Microsoft operating systems in a highly virtualised environment and subject to strict change management and Service Level AgreementsThe successful candidate will also be responsible for providing technical expertise within the following technologies:Oracle WeblogicOracle Fusion products such as ORMB, Document store, ODIJava/J2EEResponsibilites3rd line support for all services under the responsibility of client’s middleware team, within the production and pre-production environmentsRapid response to production and pre-production incidents raised to middleware by the client’s command centre, in accordance with agreed service operating model standardsProvide incident fault diagnosis and resolution, engaging other client’s support teams as requiredDelivery of middleware support services to agreed service level and operational level agreementsProactive management of the client’s middleware environments and recommendation of measures to improve service deliveryOngoing evaluation of client’s middleware services to identify potential issues such as capacity, performance, resource, process, patching, security, vulnerability plus mitigation actions requiredEscalation of critical issues in accordance with designated processes and proceduresContribute to ongoing middleware service improvements and promote knowledge sharing within the team to ensure consistent levels of support from all team members across the full middleware product setProduce and maintain relevant technical and operational middleware documentation for production and pre-production environmentsProvide full and effective cover for other members of the team as required during absenceRaising and co-ordination of change requests including representation to change management and the client’s change advisory board as requiredExecution of changes to the production and pre-production environments under authorised and controlled change requestsParticipate in middleware on-call rota to provide out-of-hours supportParticipate in discretionary projects/engineering tasks as requested by line managementEnsure that client’s security policies and guidelines are adhered to for all middleware servicesInterface and maintain relations with other client’s teams, including application support and business teamsMaintain excellent and effective working relationships with other teams, to ensure high standards of service during multi-team support activities and incidentsParticipate in the shaping and continuous improvement of the middleware support team with minimal or no supervision to ensure systems are reliable and fit for purposeQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE4+ years of experience supporting Oracle Fusion Middleware products including:Oracle Weblogic (including Coherence & OHS)Oracle Revenue Management & Billing (ORMB)Oracle DocumakerOracle WebCenterOracle OBIEEOracle Enterprise ManagerExpert knowledge of implementing solutions using Fusion Middleware productsExpert knowledge of JAVA/J2EEStrong analytical skills coupled with a methodical approach to fault investigation and resolutionService management ethos and disciplined approach to management of support tasksStrong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a variety of influencing styles to enable effective completion of tasks both individually and within groups.Builds sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals in the business and IT team from executive management through to technical levels.Shows a desire to take the initiative, moving issues forward with clarity.
