Network Engineer
Job Description
The network engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of large-scale network infrastructure. Responsibilities will also include assisting in the maintenance of existing network infrastructure in Azure, multiple datacenters and customer facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining 24/7 mission critical WANMaintain mission critical Fortigate infrastructure, management servers and appliancesBuild, maintain, troubleshoot and monitor all aspects of the Cisco network infrastructure (Router, VPN, Firewalls and switches)Configure and maintain F5 Load BalancersReview security logs and take appropriate actionsUpdate router configurations as necessaryCoordinate installation and upgrades of Corporate network nodesWork with Data Center (ASP) to provide and manage internetwork connectivityWork with Telco vendors and network providersWork closely with internal and external customers to ensure highest possible network satisfactionProactively monitor circuit uptimes and utilization (T1/T3 and up)Maintain knowledge of recent network security alerts and patchesMaintain up to date documentation and diagrams of ASP networkAfter hours and on call support when necessaryDocument network build into Microsoft VisioEnsure handbook and configuration form data is kept up to dateManage private and public IP address spaceConfigure and maintain VPN tunnelsContinuously improve networkSecondary Responsibilities:
Assist Project Managers with the implementation of new customers and new services for existing customersDevelop process and procedures for new technologies implementedReview current processes and procedures for enhancementsAssist other Senior Network engineers as requiredAssist other teams as necessaryRequirements
Minimum of 7 years telecommunications industry experienceMinimum of 5 years systems administration experienceKnowledge of Azure networking (NSG, virtual networks, etc)In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologiesExtensive knowledge of Cisco’s switches, routers and load balancing equipment configuration and monitoringKnowledge of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocolsKnowledge of CPE MPLS configurationStrong Knowledge of router and firewall terminated VPN configuration and monitoringIn-depth knowledge of Cisco ASA, Check Point firewall, and Juniper Network productsRequires strong knowledge of WAN communications hardware and software and network management softwareEnterprise data center experience preferredSelf-motivated, goal oriented and meticulous individual, who can adhere to departmental process and procedures and able to work with minimal supervisionAble to multi-task and manage changing priorities to meet demands of internal and external customersDemonstrate ability to contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork through collaborative behavior and open communicationsAbility to define and/or refine processes to benefit the team and customersExcellent analytical, communication (verbal and writing) skills; process-orientedKnowledge of Windows and UNIX networking and configurationKnowledge of packet sniffers/tcpdump and ability to read information from packet capturesKnowledge of VMWare networking and configurationKnowledge of cabling standards and ability to properly manage cable infrastructureUNIX and Windows installation/update/managementAccount management
