Senior Payroll Specialist in Alexandria

Job Summary/Company:Sparks Group has teamed up a non-profit organization in searching for a driven Sr. Payroll Specialist. The Specialist will be responsible for managing payroll operations and services and will handle payroll processing, tax reporting and reconciliation. They will be responsible for resolving payroll issues and recommending corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have previous multi-state payroll processing experience and a background working with Cost point. Responsibilities:Analyze and enter payroll information including wage changes, commissions and deductions and garnishmentsAnalyzes payroll reports and payroll related Journal Entries, performing account reconciliations using established policies and procedures, in a timely mannerMaintain and compile all payroll/accounting work papers and prepare all required reports as requestedGenerate and compile various payroll reports to include monthly, quarterly, year-end, and ad-hoc reportingParticipates in problem solving and special projects within the payroll environmentMaintain a continuously updated manual of detailed payroll procedures to process payrollOther Payroll/Accounting duties as assigned Qualifications/Background Profile:High School diploma or GED, preferred Associates in accounting or related field2+ years of comprehensive multi-state payroll processing experience requiredAdvanced knowledge of Costpoint, Deltek T&E moduleAbility to make standardized arithmetic calculations; to set up complex forms, and statistical tablesPossess strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interact and support the staff and management effectivelyAbility to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure on tight deadlines Qualified candidates should apply below AND call Sparks Group for additional details.
