Responsibilities Sets up, supports and provides detailed guidance on project, programme or portfolio management software. Produces planned and updated project, programme or portfolio reports, including cost breakdowns and summaries. Maintains portfolio, programme, and project files. Services project control boards, project assurance teams, and quality review meetings. Administers project, programme, and portfolio change control. Reviews processes and recommends changes. Support the SOX controls for the respective area within Project Management Office, if this responsibility is assigned. Maintains a good understanding of the methods and tools used in the organisation and an awareness of those in use in the wider industry. Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools. Configures methods and tools for effective use. This may involve one or more of the following activities: tool development, process definition, hardware/software installation, customisation, testing, and documentation. Provides advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools, and the adherence to policies and standards. Reviews and improves usage and application of methods and tools. Monitors costs and maintains required financial records, using appropriate tools, for compliance and audit. Creates simple to moderately complex financial reports following organizational methods and procedures for financial report writing so that project and cost centre managers are kept informed of the status of their own areas of control. Provides information and supports the compliance review and audit of IT accounting records. Works with financial forecasting and modelling tools to identify and gather information necessary to run forecasting models. Produces and reports the results of forecast models to management, identifying and resolving common forecasting problems. Assists in the collection and preparation of required budget information and participates in developing and monitoring budgets for a specific workgroup or department. Detects and interprets budget variances and overruns. Qualifications and Experience Educated to bachelor's degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification or a relevant IT apprenticeship. May have gained experience in Banking, Accounting, or any other Financial or Business Administration roles. Has experience working with a variety of methods and tools in day-to-day activities. Has gained significant experience in the financial aspects of IT products and services or has gained experience in a general accounting role and has a basic practical knowledge of IT. Has knowledge of basic risk management activities and maintains documentation of risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation actions. Is familiar with the project development lifecycle and typical issues associated with the implementation of IT projects. Is numerate, has an understanding of financial management principles, and has an awareness of overall practices and applications within IT. Excellent knowledge of the English language.
