Senior Project Manager in Bucuresti

The Manager will support the oversight of the Risk Management functions of the U1 Refurbishment Project. The Manager will work closely with Project Management to ensure that the refurbishment project adheres to its project management governance, budget control, risk management and reporting objectives. Fluency in English is mandatory, and prior experience or training in CANDU refurbishments will be considered a valuable asset. The Manager of Project Management, Budget and Risk reports directly to the Director Refurbishment Project Management, Planning & Budget and Risk has as main accountabilities: · Develop and maintain project management governance, processes and tools to support effective delivery · Ensure Project Managers have the necessary resources to successfully manage their projects · Collaborate with PMs to establish project objectives, deliverables and performance metrics · Oversee the budget development and ensure alignment with organizational financial objectives · Monitor expenditures, track budget variances and provide regular financial reporting · Establish and maintain a risk management process to identify, asses and mitigate project risks · Collaborate with PMs to develop risk management plans and implement risk mitigation strategies · Ensure regular and consistent review and assessment of new and existing risks ensuring a proactive approach to risk management · Ensure all projects adhere to organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements · Monitor compliance with project management standards and provide guidance for corrective actions · Conduct project audits and assessments to ensure effectiveness of current processes and continual improvement · Lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals · Provide coaching and support to enhance skills and capabilities of project management team Requirements 1. Professional Knowledge and Experience: 1.1 Minimum 8 years of experience in large-scale projects, including significant exposure to nuclear projects or refurbishments. 1.2 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or a related field 1.3 Prior experience or training in a Canadian run CANDU refurbishment will be considered an asset. 2. Skills and abilities: 1.1 Ability to define high standards and expectations to increase the performance of subordinate personnel. 1.2 Demonstrated proficiency in project reporting, procurement, and contract management, particularly in refurbishment settings. 1.3 Strong decision-making skills, particularly when dealing with risk management. 1.4 Highly organized with excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of providing leadership in both day-to-day operations and crisis situations. 3. Promptness in solving problems: 1.1 Proven ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced project environment. 1.2 Ability to use analysis, value judgments, experience and logical methods to make the right decisions, leading to effective solutions. 4. Communication: 1.1 Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with an ability to present to senior management and external stakeholders. 1.2 Fluency in English is Mandatory 5. Development of interpersonal relationships: 1.1 Ability to share achievements and successes with team members, so that each team member feels valuable and appreciated. 1.2 Ability to develop constructive relationships, to use tact and diplomacy to disperse tense situations. 6. Delegation and responsibility 1.1 Ability to delegate tasks, in accordance with the individual competences of the subordinate staff and to make the staff responsible for the actions under their responsibility, in order to achieve the objectives. 7. Time management 1.1 Ability to establish clear, realistic and measurable objectives, to correctly determine the duration and difficulty of activities and projects and to establish priorities and schedules for their completion.
