To drive innovation at our scale, we need experienced engineers to build storage, data abstraction, streaming, transformation, analytics warehouse, replication, metadata platform, data exploration, governance framework. What You’ll DoDesign and build data infrastructure systems, services and tools to handle new Affirm products and business requirements that securely scale over millions of users and their transactions.Build frameworks and services which will be used by other engineering teams at Affirm to manage billions of dollars in loans and power customer experiences.Improve the reliability and efficiency of our core systems.Work cross-functionally with various engineering and analytics teams to identify and execute on new opportunities in data infrastructure. What We Look For4+ years of development experienceExperience with AWS and/or other cloud providers (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS etc.)Working knowledge of Relational (e.g. AWS Aurora, MySQL) and NoSQL databases or any online transaction (OLTP) systems experience Working knowledge of OLAP systems like Snowflake is a plusExperience building scalable data processing systems using MapReduce and SparkKnowledge of Python/Kotlin or the ability to learn them quicklyExperience in operating 24x7 mission-critical systemsExperience building and owning large-scale, geographically distributed backend systemsSkilled at developing and debugging in one or more programming languagesExperience with (or want to learn about) operating system internals, filesystems, databases, network, concurrency frameworksEager to learn new things and have a growth mindsetA/B Testing experimentation system experience is a plusWorking knowledge and experience in data lifecycle management and operation (e.g., data classification, ETL, streaming/batch processing, data quality, data security, etc.) is a plus Compensation & BenefitsWe offer a competitive package, with some highlights listed below.
