As a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator, you will be part of a small team of DB Experts (Oracle/SQL Server) responsible for many database related topics (infrastructure, performance, installation, development support).
Your main customers will be Product Support (helping customers) and Development where you will analyze, solve, assist and suggest improvements.
Regular customer contact is part of the job with exceptional travel. Work from home is part of a good work/life balance.
Responsibilities:

Supply 3rd line Microsoft SQL database support towards ex- and internal customers

SQL Server installation/administration/configuration
-
Performance tuning
-
Partitioning, indexing and collecting performance metrics

Using Profiler traces and other tools to find the most resource-intensive queries

Know your way around the query store and understand execution plans
-
Develop and improve ways for automation

Investigate new features which may improve product
-
Database application design (collation, data model, indexing strategy)

Documentation (create and maintain)
Qualification and competences:
-
Bachelor’s in Engineering or related degree in Computer Science

Min. 4 years hands-on experience with recent Microsoft SQL Server database versions

Tuning SQL Server queries for at least 2 years
-
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell
-
Relevant experience on Windows Server
-
Preferably Development background (T-SQL scripts, triggers, functions, stored procedures)

Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Analytical problem-solving skills
