Role Overview:We are going through and exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our newly-formed Site Reliability Engineering team. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology within Kingfisher. You will be responsible for the delivery of testing for the product/project whilst working closely to support and mentor junior members of the team. Being among the first feet on the ground, this is an opportunity to play a key role in the core SRE team, applying your unique blend of skills and experience to help influence the direction of reliability engineering at Kingfisher.If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact building better software, this is the job for you! Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:Increase observability of Kingfisher systems through application of best practice telemetry standards (monitoring, graphing, alerting, anomaly detection) Work with Product teams to establish SLI’s / SLO’s and participate in monthly reviews Work with Product teams and embedded SRE’s to drive automation and reduce toil Work closely with Incident Management and Product teams to ensure appropriate root cause analysis is performed with actionable outcomes Provide SRE representation in blameless post-mortems following P1/P2 incidents and ensure outcomes are followed through to resolution Participate in on-call rota providing SRE support during Major Incidents Work closely with and support the Security domain leads, within a cloud / DevOps context Participate in Backlog grooming and planning meetings Creation and ownership of common standards and practices Required Skills & Experience:Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure DevOps concepts and tooling – e.g. Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Helm Chart, Service Mesh and YAMLScripting Languages – e.g. Python or Go Programming Languages – e.g. Java, C / C++ Monitoring tools and dashboards – e.g. DataDog, Dynatrace or GrafanaMicroservices - e.g. Java Springboot Version control systems - GitLab Understanding of Agile development methodologies - TDD, Continuous integration and code analysisStrong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Understanding of SRE principles What we offer In return, we offer an inclusive environment, where what you can achieve is limited only by your imagination!
