About the Role:The mission of Accounting Engineering team is to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate financial reporting while helping business expansion. We work with Remitly's accountants and support them by automating the accounting month-end close processes.As a member of the Accounting Engineering team you will learn the basics of accounting and use it to manage the processing and aggregation of the whole volume of our customer transactions. You will use Go and develop database queries on daily basis. Your constant challenge will be to codify complex accounting requirements in performant and manageable way. You will work for an already established, distributed team, reporting to Engineering Manager based in Poland. We understand the value of face-to-face interactions and aim to see each other every quarter (the role is remote from Poland, with occasional travel). You Will:Implement new features and maintain existing systems,Partner and mentor other engineers, code reviews and provide feedback,Work with the Product Manager and business stakeholders to understand the requirements,Write technical specification and participate in design reviews,Participate in scrum meetings, break requirements to stories, provide estimates,Assist the Accounting team in troubleshooting and providing tech guidance,Support the Accounting team during the month-end close through rotating on-call schedule.
