That’s what #LifeAtCummins is all about. Sourcing and Strategy Buyer Description With over one hundred years of industry, Cummins are the trailblazers when it comes to power generation technologies. We are currently looking for a Sourcing and Strategy Buyer to execute buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans, specifically focused on improving supplier overall performance and capacity ahead of demand. Responsibilities include: Managing globally for all CGT Plants the commodities: Copper and Bearings;Develop the Commodity Strategy & Engage with supply market;Cost analysis, Logistics, tariffs, exchange rates analysis;Develop Sourcing Strategies, Based on Commodity Strategy, develop programme sourcing strategies regardless of manufacturing location;Identifies qualified suppliers and executes sound source selection processes;Has regular interface with suppliers within area of responsibility and maintains the supplier relationship;Sources specialized items and executes complex sourcing strategies in accordance with agreed upong sourcing strategy;Supports purchasing/sourcing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, industry and market analysis, process analysis, and model building;Agree cost targets with Finance & Stakeholder alignment with sourcing decisions;Negotiate with suppliers to achieve and exceed cost targets. Required skills: Balances stakeholders - Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders;Purchasing Ethics - Avoids supplier engagement that may compromise supplier sourcing, selection, and management processes and seeks counsel to ensure compliance;Purchasing Policies, Procedures, Tools - Complies with purchasing policies and procedures and complies with them in daily work;Source to Pay Principles - Leverages key principles of the Source to Pay process to smoothly execute sourcing decisions, order placement, material/service acquisition and on-time payment of Suppliers;Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a temporary effort (a "project").
