Oracle's Global Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS) is an organization that provides customers and partners with the most up-to-date knowledge, best practices and insights to manage and optimize our customer’s Oracle license investment.
Role
Responsible to provide GLAS Consultants with Technical Analysis Services - collecting and analyzing data regarding the installations and usage of Oracle products by Customers and Partners.
Scope

- Delivers Shared Service to GLAS teams & Oracle customers

Responsibilities
- Performs analysis activities on Oracle Products usage, based on standard processes and/or specific engagement/customer requirements
- Provides Customers with remote assistance during the entire process of installing and running the GLAS technical measurement tools as well as collecting and transferring usage data
- Tests the GLAS tools and processes of collecting, loading and analyzing technical usage data in line with the predefined specifications
- Performs a complete, detailed and accurate analysis of collected data, verifies and validates usage data against entitlements, prepares the license usage report according to GLAS standards and procedures, presents the report and findings to the GLAS Consultant
- Prepares and holds presentations about team services, assists new colleagues and makes verifications of their activities according to the quality procedures
- Informs and provides regular updates on the activity results to the direct Manager
- Gains and maintains knowledge and expertise regarding Oracle Products licensing
- Gains and maintains the necessary technical knowledge on the Oracle products in scope
- Operates in line with Oracle processes/procedures and GLAS Core Values
- Proactively strives to build on current skills through Personal development
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience in technology
- 3-5 years’ experience in IT Industry, Software Development, Customer Relations experience is preferred
Competencies
- Intermediate SQL and PL/SQL knowledge
- Command line knowledge for Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. Basic scripting knowledge (e.g. shell script)
- MS Word and Excel knowledge
- Oracle Database architecture knowledge
- Good understanding of computer and network architecture
- Attention to detail is critical
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Project Management basic knowledge
- Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and troubleshooting for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will interface with the customer*s IT staff on a regular basis. Either at the client*s site or from a remote location, you will be responsible for resolution of moderately complex technical problems related to the installation, recommended maintenance and use and repair/workarounds for Oracle products. You should be highly experienced in some Oracle products and several platforms that are being supported. You will be expected to work with only general guidance from management while advising management on progress/status.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Because of substantial customer interfacing, a demonstrated ability to work with customers on an independent basis with exceptional communication skills, while consistently achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction is essential. A Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred with five years related experience. Experience with Oracle*s core products, applications, and tools is important.
