We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to join our team and provide expert guidance and leadership in designing and architecting cloud-based software solutions. As a Technical Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the overall architecture and technical direction of our software products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality and scalable solutions. Responsibilities: Lead the architectural design and development of cloud-based software solutions, considering factors such as system requirements, scalability, performance, security, and integration. Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to be used in the development process, considering factors such as scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness. Define and communicate architectural standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across development teams. Conduct system analysis, performance tuning, and code reviews to identify areas for improvement and optimize software solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring the successful delivery of software products. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance our software development processes. Requirements and Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrated work experience. 8 + years of experience in software development businesses, with a focus on architecture and technical leadership. Proven experience in designing and architecting complex, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices. Proficiency in a wide range of technologies and frameworks, with the ability to evaluate and select the most appropriate ones for specific project requirements. Experience with cloud platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Trello, or similar for managing development activities. Experience with tools like Git for version control, Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation for infrastructure as code, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript for automation. Remote working is available for this role however you will need to be available for occasional team meetings in our London office.
