The Technical Instructional Designer will support the TK Elevator mechanics and engineers’ technical knowledge and skills by developing high quality technical training content. This position will design and develop technical content for online learning, classroom delivery, and related documentation—applying best practices of instructional and visual design and a working knowledge of storyboarding, technical communications, graphics. The position will also collaborate with internal partners to ensure that the deliverables are aligned with the needs of the business.Essential duties and responsibilities: Conduct needs analyses and develop training plans with measurable objectives through an agile variation of ADDIE modelDesign and develop instructor-led and interactive online learning content (eLearning)—providing good UI design, feedback to learner, interactivity, and assessmentDevelop storyboards for eLearningsDevelop learning labs for technical troubleshooting by applying principles of gamificationDesign multiple levels of assessment following Kirkpatrick or Phillips modelsWork with department managers to support stakeholder expectationsAcquire a level of knowledge of product operation and elevator technologies to be able to Interview subject matter experts—engineers, elevator mechanics, and instructors—to develop in-depth technical trainingCommunicate visually through training content—applying a strong knowledge of graphics design, UI/UX principles, and typographyUse development tools to write, storyboard, and develop instructor-led or interactive content; tools may include PowerPoint, Captivate, Camtasia, Storyline, Inspire, Photoshop, IllustratorMaintain knowledge of and proficiency in adult learning techniques and methodsMaintain a training plan and a development schedule for your projects, track revisions and keep records of training development activity as part of the process of continuous improvementPerform UI testing on your online training and others’ trainingAttend and assess Instructor-Led and Virtual Instructor-Led training pilots Who we are looking for Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Instructional Design, Adult Education, English, Communications, or related field, with many courses taken in instructional design and training10 plus years proven instructional design and course development experience for technical subjects8 years technology experience, including electro-mechanical productsApplications: PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Camtasia), an e-learning development tool (such as Captivate, Storyline, Trivantis Inspire, etc.)LMS/LXP and content management experienceProject management experience showing strong organizational, presentation, and project management skillsTechnical writing experience that shows strong written and verbal communications skillsStrong mechanical reasoning, logical reasoning and comprehension skillsPrints reading and general electronics is a plusCreativeProblem SolverAdaptableSelf-ConfidentCustomer OrientedCommunicatorSelf Starter who can work independently and collaborativelyEnthusiastic about technology and adult learningReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
