Corporate Bank Technology understands the client’s needs and has a robust strategy and innovative approach to deliver.About the TeamMerchant Solutions Technology: As part of the Commercial Banking Technology domain, the Merchant Solutions Technology group provides the Corporate Bank with a dedicated team that capitalizes on the rapidly evolving technology industry to provide our clients new products and innovation to meet their growing needs. The team consists of highly skilled specialists within a Corporate Bank wide Agile framework operating in a FinTech-like setup. We deliver innovative products such as our Request-to-Pay platform (leveraging APIs and open banking architecture to implement new payment products that helps our clients more efficiently transact with their customers) and the Digital Payment Gateway (creating an API based solution allowing Marketplaces and Merchant to streamline their payment processing and settlement activities).Your RoleWhat You’ll Do Forming part of the Merchant Solutions Technology leadership team you will be responsible for helping to drive Deutsche Bank’s strategy for technological excellence in expanding the firm’s offering and leveraging varying Fintech partnerships and solutions. In tandem with Client and Product Managers you will build requirements and translate these into industry leading technology solutions.In your role you will:• Lead the team by example and through hands on technical skills and deliveries • Plan delivery timelines, resources and budgets• Use your full stack or backend Java experience for designing and developing new and existing applications within a cloud-based high availability architecture • Build shared platform architecture across Merchant Solutions applications allowing quicker time to market for new solutions.• Assist in the adoption of modern engineering practices and design principles across the Merchant Solutions team, drive Agile principles• Engage with business sponsors and stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure adherence to the business strategy, pro-actively participate in defining ways to meet strategic objectives• Partner with QA to ensure quality solutions are delivered to end users For internal use only• Foster collaborative working relationships with senior colleagues across the firm• Organize provisioning of the Level 3 support Skills You’ll Need • Strong, in-depth, hands-on knowledge of Core Java, Database Technologies (e.g. SQL, Hibernate, NoSQL, MongoDB), micro-service architectures, Kubernetes containerization platforms (GKE, OpenShift)• Significant and proven experience in a technology team leadership role and in managing vendor/partner relationships • Strong experience in cloud based, distributed, highly available and fault tolerant applications.• Experience in building large scale and highly available (REST) API’s with Java – both internal and external • In-depth experience with build tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle), version control (e.g. git) and continuous integration systems (e.g. Teamcity, Jenkins)• Strong knowledge of various design and architectural patterns • Knowledge of industry standard processes followed for build, deployment, release and application support (CI/CD, incident/problem/change management etc.)• Experience in frontend / JavaScript technology• Experience leading teams following Agile practices• Experience in strategy planning and governance • Experience in facing business stakeholders• Experience in effectively communicating with and positively influencing diverse stakeholders and team members• Experience in the finance industry and understanding financial products and business processes would be beneficial• Experience working within the Fintech community would be beneficial • Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience Success Factors for Engineers in CB Technology• Someone who sets standards for excellence in their role as an engineer • Talented individuals who are creative, innovative, and passionate about doing exciting and important work• People who make wise decisions, despite ambiguity, be it people, technical, business, other• People who treat others with respect at all times, independent of their status • An engineer who considers quality as a priority and think about the client whilst developing for our future• High-value persons who have a desire make an impact• Individuals who have a desire of self-improvement through experience and observation, introspection, reading and discussion • Individuals who accomplish amazing amounts of important work• Someone who seeks to understand our strategy, our business, the market and our clients• A person who challenges assumptions when warranted and makes suggestions for better approaches
