Technical Operations Engineer - Python in Bucuresti

Job DescriptionYou will be part of the Data Automation team, sitting within Technical Operations. Our team is responsible for automating the processes and workflows used by Operations and beyond. We are committed to continually improving operational efficiency across the business, with a special focus on the transport and transformation of data between systems.In this role you will become an expert in Python programming by building integrations between YouGov’s different data collection, storage, and reporting systems, including: Creating, testing and documenting micro- and macro-level automations connecting our “Gryphon” interviewing, “BrandIndex” surveying and “Datum” panelist database systems that constitute the backbone of our data products. Maintain and extend templates used by production teams and internal services, e.g. for scheduled & repeated tasks and streamlined processing solutions. Integrate and automate data flows in and out of YouGov’s data analytics and reporting platform “Crunch”.QualificationsRequired knowledge and experienceFluent English speakerProven skills in Python, including, but not limited to, working with pandas, numpy and JSONExperience in designing and implementing Python classes and creating python packagesKnowledge of Git, Bash / command line usage and working within GitLab (incl. CI)Desireable skills 2+ years in a Market Research Operations role (survey scripting or DP)Knowledge of SQL & interacting with APIsHaving already worked with Jira for ticket and software development managementDegree in mathematics/statistics/computer science viewed favourablyBehavioural competenciesExcellent attention to detailExcellent written, oral and electronic communication skillsExcellent analytical and numerical skillsAbility to solve problems with in an innovative, creative and structured mannerAbility to deliver results, meet deadlines and manage time effectivelyAdditional InformationWe know that you do your best when you feel your best.
