UX Engineer Salary: National ranging from £51, to £78, and London from £56, to £86, The team/department The Data Strategy and Services department, within the Intelligence & Digital Division, drives the FCA's Data Strategy by enhancing the value of data through data management, governance and analysis activities and providing central co-ordination of all data-related activities. You will work within a newly established team to design and build a library of reusable components within the context and guidelines of the wider FCA Design System. This will support content design, user interface (UI) design, and service design. For example, we expect the component library will contain Styles, Components, and Patterns with guidance and code examples to allow continuous integration. You will contribute to the User Centred Design community of practice developing the FCA Design System that will incorporate the FCA design component library. Be responsible for reviewing and contributing to clean, accessible Front End code following progressive enhancement approach, while working closely with the development team. Be able to create Front End code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse. Design digital experiences which meet the needs and creates meaningful interactions and relationships with users. Understand and have experience with core Front End technologies (HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript) and design tools (Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe XD, GDS Prototyping Kit) What you will get from the role. Extensive experience of UI/UX Development or Design Experience underpinned by solid understanding of user-centred design and interaction design principles. Experience of taking responsibility for the delivery of designs and related artefacts, complying with requirements, design standards and delivery constraints working within an Agile environment. Demonstrable experience of how to remove design complexity from products and services Essential. Experience creating and iterating dynamic HTML/CSS prototypes to test and communicate ideas. You'll know how to version and host these prototypes and should consider different screen sizes and platforms. Experience of collaborating with developers on design specifications and translating them into Front End code. You can review Front End code and suggest improvements in the build test or recommend improvements to document user interfaces of high complexity, using the right standards and tools. Experience of assessing existing information architecture/layout and flows, identifying areas for improvement, designing 'to-be' information architectures, layouts and flows. Excellent knowledge of principles of accessible, secure and responsive user interfaces. Experience collaborating with user researchers and BAs and can translate the needs of internal and external users into low and high fidelity prototypes. Prototyping with Figma, Adobe XD, GDS prototyping kit or similar industry-recognised prototype software. Very good understanding of Angular/React, or other JavaScript-based frameworks.
